Although ingredient labels are required for food, cosmetics and drugs – this rule has not yet been extended to household cleaners. Many of these mysterious concoctions contain harmful chemicals such as:

• Nonylphenol ethoxylate –can disrupt hormone system and is toxic to aquatic life.
• Butoxygilycol – can irritate and inflame lungs.
• Methoxydiglycol – The United Nations Economic Commission says that this is “suspected of damaging the unborn child.”
